In January 1998, I was dispatched to San Francisco to cover the Macworld trade show. I rented a car and took a nice drive down to Cupertino to see where Apple lives. Well, here's where Apple lives --- 1 Infinite Loop, Cupertino, Calif. Gil Amelio would have been CEO, soon to be replaced by the second coming of Steve Jobs. You'll notice the rainbow Apple log high on the centre section. Apple did away with it a few years ago with the mono-colour logo. I would have gone into the place during the visit but, stupid me, Macworld is held usually within a day or two of New Year's and everyone was shut down for the holidays.
