Yes, I agree with Jsmith, thank you for sorting out the facts for the rest of us who're trying to understand the problem. However, there are always a lot of questions whenever anything connected with "nuclear" comes up. Alarm bells always start ringing. Will we face another Chernobyl or Three Mile Island? What are the actual consequences of anything going wrong? How will the townspeople living near the MAPLEs be affected? Or those living downstream from the Chalk River installations? What does Daniel Meneley, Acting Dean, Faculty of Energy Systems and Nuclear Science, University of Ontario Institute of Technology mean when he says "Yes, there will be problems."? And which experts should be believed and trusted? Are the experts consulted by the government automatically suspect? Do their expert opinions carry as much weight as those expressed by experts who oppose the government's shutting down of MAPLEs?
